Mig/Tig Welder
A MIG (Metal Inert Gas) Welder is responsible for performing welding operations using the MIG welding process. A TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) Welder also known as GTAW (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding) Welder, is responsible for performing welding operations using the TIG welding process.
Responsibilities

Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, or specifications to determine welding requirements.

Set up MIG/TIG welding equipment, including selecting the appropriate welding machine, wire, and shielding gas.

Clean, prepare, and preheat workpieces to ensure proper fusion and adhesion.

Position and secure workpieces using clamps, fixtures, or other holding devices.

Operate the MIG/TIG welding machine to perform welding operations, controlling the welding speed, wire feed, and gas flow.

Monitor welding parameters, such as voltage, amperage, and travel speed, to maintain quality and consistency.

Weld components according to specified welding procedures, including groove, fillet, or butt welds.

Read and interpret work orders, drawings, or instructions to determine material requirements and fit-up procedures.

Cut, shape, or trim metal components using shears, saws, plasma cutters, or other tools to achieve proper dimensions and fit.

Align and fit workpieces together, using jigs, clamps, or other holding devices, to achieve precise alignment and joint configurations.

Adhere to safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) during all welding operations.

Follow welding codes, standards, and regulations to ensure compliance with industry and safety guidelines.

Identify and report any safety hazards, near misses, or accidents to supervisors or safety personnel.

Participate in safety training programs and contribute to maintaining a safe working environment.
Qualifications and Skills

5 years experience

Proficiency in MIG/TIG welding techniques and equipment operation.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, or welding symbols.

Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce high-quality welds.

Physical stamina and dexterity to work in various positions and environments.

Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.

Problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot welding issues.
